وقت ایک بہت ہی قیمتی چیز ہے، اوراگر کسی کام کو اس کے مناسب وقت پر انجام دیا جائے تو اس کی بھی بڑی اہمیت ہوا کرتی ہے۔ دین اسلام نے عبادات مخصوصا نماز جیسی عظیم عبادت کے وقت داخل ہونے کا اعلان کرنے اور مومنین کو متوجہ کرنے کیلئے آذان کا حکم دیا ہے۔
